Gangnam Room Salons vs Full Salons: Prices, How They Work & What to Check (2026)

Hi, I’m Yasao. I’ve been helping Japanese visitors navigate nights out in Korea for 32 years.

“I want to go out in Gangnam, but what’s the difference between a room salon and a full salon?” I hear this a lot. The photos look exciting; the prices and what actually happens on the night are harder to pin down. Let’s clear that up before anyone makes a booking.

In this guide, I’ll explain the prices I currently quote—KRW 1,100,000 for a room salon and KRW 550,000 for a full salon, per person, per visit—along with the questions worth asking about the venue, timing and total cost.

How should you choose a night out in Gangnam?

Gangnam appeals to travellers who want a more glamorous evening in Seoul. But “somewhere in Gangnam” is only the beginning of a plan. One group wants a lively night with friends; another would rather talk quietly in a private room.

So my first question is not “Which venue?” but “How many people, and what kind of evening do you want?” It’s like picking a restaurant: the best choice depends on your appetite and company, not just the price tag. This time, of course, I mean your appetite for an evening out (laughs).

What are room salons and full salons?

Despite their names, neither is a beauty salon. The format described in this article starts with drinks, conversation and sometimes karaoke with a woman in a private room. The particular packages discussed here also involve a later meeting at a hotel that includes sexual services. Think of it as an evening in two parts, not simply drinks followed by goodbye.

Names alone do not promise a particular service. The number of women available, how you choose, payment, the length of each part and what is included all vary by venue and booking. Check the details before you commit.

What might a full-salon visit look like?

Every venue has its own procedure, but the following is one example of how an evening may unfold.

1. Arrive and choose a companion

Staff greet you and explain how women are introduced. At some venues, guests choose from a line-up viewed through glass; the number available can vary. If you’re faced with twenty or thirty choices, save a little decision-making energy for the rest of the night.

2. Move to a private room and confirm payment

You then spend time together in a private room, often with karaoke. Some venues collect payment in advance. Confirm the amount and exactly what it covers before the drinks begin. Mental arithmetic after a few glasses has a habit of coming out in your own favour.

3. Enjoy drinks, conversation and karaoke

Some packages describe around an hour in the room. Others differ. Depending on the venue, this part may be limited to drinks and conversation or may include a show with sexual contact. Ask what applies to your booking. Karaoke is welcome, but you can leave the national singing contest for another trip.

4. Follow the venue’s instructions for the hotel

With some arrangements, the guest leaves first for a nearby hotel and the woman joins later. Hotel time may be described as roughly 40–60 minutes, but do not treat that as a guaranteed duration. Confirm the actual location, timing and scope beforehand. The evening may have a second part; make sure you know where to go rather than heading back to your own hotel by mistake.

Pack more than a passport

Use a condom for sex. If you prefer a familiar brand or fit, bring your own from Japan rather than relying on whatever a venue may have. Passport, wallet, phone—then one last check before you zip the suitcase.

Room salon or full salon: which suits you?

Both names can describe private-room drinking and conversation, but the name does not determine every part of the experience. The atmosphere, how women are introduced, whether there is a later off-site meeting, and any extra charges can differ. Here is the order in which I would decide.

Start with the kind of evening you want

Do you want an unhurried drink with friends, one-to-one conversation, a lively karaoke session, or an arrangement that includes what happens after leaving the venue? Your answer matters more than assuming the more expensive option must be better. You wouldn’t choose between sushi and barbecue by price alone, would you?

Then match the budget to your group

The quoted prices in this guide are KRW 1,100,000 for a room salon and KRW 550,000 for a full salon, each for one person and one visit. If you are going as a group, budget for each person. Also ask whether drinks, the room, extensions, transport and hotel costs are included or charged separately. “I’ll find out later” is not my favourite strategy when travelling.

Confirm the selection process and schedule

How are companions introduced? What time do you arrive, and how long do you stay? Does the booking involve a move outside the venue? Photos and venue names cannot answer those questions. If you are visiting with friends, say whether you want to stay together or prefer individual arrangements.

If you are unsure, tell Yasao plainly

“Two of us in Gangnam, about this much to spend, and we’d like a relaxed drink” is enough to start. I would then confirm what happens, the duration, what the price includes and whether there are additional costs. Sexual services or a meeting outside the venue should never be assumed from a label: ask directly before booking if that is important to you.

How much do room salons and full salons cost?

Type Quoted price
Room salon KRW 1,100,000 per person, per visit
Full salon KRW 550,000 per person, per visit

These are the prices I am quoting here for one person making one visit. The precise duration and inclusions are confirmed individually before a booking. I have not fixed a yen equivalent in the article, because exchange rates change. Check the current rate while planning your budget.

Price is only half the decision. Make sure the proposed evening and the conditions explained in advance actually match what you hope to enjoy.

Which would Yasao recommend?

When someone asks which is better, I do not automatically recommend the pricier choice—or the cheaper one. I ask for the group size, budget, preferred date and the kind of evening they have in mind. A sparkling night with friends is different from an outing fitted around dinner and sightseeing.

A trip to Korea is more than one night. Perhaps you have an early morning planned; perhaps you are ready to stay out. My job is to help fit the evening to the whole trip, not push a single package.

From first enquiry to the night itself

1. Share the date, group size and budget

“Two people in Gangnam on Friday night” is a perfectly good starting point. You do not need to decide on a room salon or full salon first.

2. Describe the atmosphere you prefer

Lively or low-key? Karaoke or conversation? First time in Korea and want an explanation? Ordinary words tell me more than industry jargon.

3. Check the offer and the price

Ask about timing, inclusions, any additional charges and what is expected on the day before you decide to book. There is no prize for arriving with unanswered questions.

4. Decide only when you are comfortable

If the details fit, make a plan. If they do not, it is fine to say so. A holiday evening should be something you look forward to.

Frequently asked questions

Can a first-time visitor ask for help?

Of course. You can simply ask me to explain the difference between the two options. First-timers often enjoy the evening more when the details are clear beforehand.

Are the listed prices per person?

Yes. The room-salon price of KRW 1,100,000 and full-salon price of KRW 550,000 are each for one person and one visit.

How long does it last?

There is no single duration promised by this article. I will explain the timing for the specific arrangement before a booking.

What is included?

That depends on the particular offer. Please ask for the total expected cost and a clear list of inclusions and extras before you decide.

What if I cannot choose?

Tell me your date, group size, budget and the evening you picture. We can work through the options together.

A final word from Yasao

Gangnam nightlife can feel intimidating when every other term is unfamiliar. You do not need to be an expert to have a good evening. My aim is for you to understand the plan and look forward to it.

Start with the quoted prices—KRW 1,100,000 for a room salon, KRW 550,000 for a full salon, per person and per visit—then ask about what best fits your plans. Even “Can you explain the difference first?” is welcome. Bluffing under Gangnam’s streetlights rarely works anyway (laughs).
